Executive Director, Data Surveillance and Epidemiology @ Victorian Department of Health and Human Services
Kira Leeb is the Executive Director, Data Surveillance and Epidemiology, within the COVID 19 Intelligence, Data & Corporate Division for the Victorian Department of Health and Human Services.
Kira began this role in March 2020 as the Deputy Public Health Commander, Intelligence, when the COVID pandemic began to escalate in Victoria. In this role, Kira leads a multi-disciplinary team responsible for providing data and intelligence to all levels of government within the state and nationally to help inform decision-makers about Victoria’s pandemic response. This role has included facilitating the establishment of data and reporting platforms that has brought together surveillance information from a variety of sources across the health system to enable comprehensive reporting.
Prior to working within the department, Kira was the Executive Director of Health and System Performance Reporting within the Victorian Agency for Health Information. In this role, Kira was responsible for leading the development a portfolio of work related to performance reporting of health services within Victoria.
Prior to her roles in Victoria, Kira held several progressive positions within the Canadian Institute for Health Information over 18 years where she was responsible for the production of serial and specialised reports on Canada’s healthcare system.
