Harikesh Nair is the Jonathan B. Lovelace Professor of Marketing at Stanford University. He is currently on leave from Stanford to serve as the Chief Scientist for Business Strategy at, China’s largest online retailer. His role at is focused on using marketing analytics to drive growth for JD and its partner brands in China, leveraging JD’s data assets and AI-driven technology platform.

Harikesh’s research is on marketing analytics and computational social science. His work has been published in the top journals, written up about in popular-press outlets like CNBC, The Economist, Financial Times, US News and the Wall Street Journal, and has been awarded numerous prestigious international awards. In 2014, “Poets&Quants,” a magazine focused on Business schools, voted him one of the “40 Most Outstanding B-School Profs Under 40 in the World”.
